“I’m a doctor, not…”

Day One Hundred & Sixteen: April 26, 2010 by mrbosslady (Megan Welch) on Flickr.

I just got a form letter through my business site, which said in part:

Subject: It’s not too late to enjoy a rewarding career
Dear Kate,
We contacted you a few months ago after seeing your resume online and I wanted to follow up to see if your career needs have changed. I feel you have what it takes to be a successful Insurance Sales Agent and build a rewarding career with us at ———————— Company.

Since that has absolutely nothing to do with anything remotely concerned with my work, and borders on spam, I simply replied with one line:

Dammit, Jim, I’m a copyeditor, not a sales agent!

Felt good.
